The night after the Christmas program was the lighting of the Christmas tree in Old Town. The tree was just a couple of blocks from my house, so I met some friends there to watch the lighting ceremony. After it was done we walked down to the Chinese restaurant down the street and enjoyed a delicious dinner together!
The ceremony started out with fire eaters walking around the tree on stilts.
Then the mayor talked and some small fireworks were set off around the tree.
A local high school choir and the LCC handbell choir preformed after that.
Santa was then hoisted above the crowd in a cherry picker electic lift!
More fireworks were set off around the tree as Santa talked.
The the tree was lit -complete with fireworks!
I LOVED the fireworks!
