Our Student Council hosted the European Student Forum in February.  The Leadership Development worked to bring in a special guest speaker.  This year we brought in Sam Potolicchio, a professor from Georgetown University in the US.  We had connected with him through a former LCC student who had rave reviews of a seminar of his that she attended this past summer.  If you know me, you know that people (or movies or books or whatever) that come with such gushing reviews tend to cause me to be rather skeptical.  I meet them with guarded regard and see if they live up to all the hype.  Well, Sam did!  He was an amazing speaker, interacted well with our students, and did just an overall fabulous job!

We had him join our monthly RA training on Friday for lunch.  He led a discussion on leadership.  He gave a few words about his experiences and some general observations to begin our time.  He then interacted with the staff about leadership challenges that they experience in their roles and gave them good solid counsel on how to deal with the issues.  It was an excellent session.
