Dribble for Lithuania

The EuroBasket 2011 tournament will be happening in Lithuania later this month.  In preperation for this exciting event, the country has organized an event called "Dribble for Lithuania"  July 6 - August 29 there is a basketball that is being dribble continuously across Lithuania.  It was dribbled through Klaipeda on July 29th and we happened upon the caravan on our trip home from work.  Kim pulled the car over so that Marlene and I could capture the excitement on our cameras!

You should know that basketball is the unofficial religion of Lithuania!  The hoopla over basketball here makes Hooiser-Hysteria look like dullsville.  :)

Nothing less than a police escort for this event!

Young and old are excited about this event!

I didn't actually get a photo of the guy dribbling, but here's his entourage!

Here's a link if you want to know more about "Dribble for Lithuania".
